Collection: Purple Horizon

Purple skies occur when red and blue wavelengths coexist in similar proportion. Perhaps the most structurally revealing purple backdrop occurs when lightning appears on the horizon opposite of a sunset. While the sustained fusion-driven plasma (the Sun) is right below the horizon on one side of the sky, there is a brief flash of electrically-driven plasma in the opposite sky (i.e., lightning).
