Collection: Blue Glacier

Snow falls. Layers accumulate. Weight compresses what lies beneath. Air is forced out. Density increases. Over time, the ice turns dark blue.  Fractures and caves simply expose the core that pressure has already shaped over many years in the past. Deep blue glacier ice forms under pressure. Accumulation across time is really what produced the structure.
